BA of Arts in the Amsterdam Fashion Academy 2025
a four-look fashion collection connecting the social, emotional, and physical constraints of living with ‘invisible’ neurological disorders such as epilepsy, narcolepsy, Tourette’s Syndrome, migraines, etc., with a creative voice through fashion and design
with inflatable and quilted garments, the collection is able to prevent injuries that are attached to these conditions
this allows the collection to form a rare multifunctional vision that combines design and safety with a touch of self-expression
through innovative construction techniques and fabric selection, I was able to design a collection that tackles the underlying issue: the threat of safety through unpredictable neurological impairment
meanwhile the collection also silences the already existing injury preventative garments, those who are regarded as having a visually unappealing look and a social stigma that harms self-image
